Keeping your email address
Can I keep my current email address if I sign up with Junara?
Yes, if it ends in one of these domains:
- @virginmedia.com
- @blueyonder.co.uk
- @virgin.net
- @ntlworld.com
We’ll send you a confirmation email once your sign-up is complete and payment has been received.
What’s changing?
Your email address isn’t changing – only your email service provider.
Virgin Media has chosen Junara to provide your email service. So, to keep your email address, simply sign up with Junara.
Once your email account has been transferred, we’ll provide your email service directly.
Who is Junara?
We are part of the Atmail group – a global team of email experts trusted worldwide. For nearly 30 years, we’ve helped hundreds of millions of people stay connected with secure and reliable email services.
Signing up
What do I need to sign up with Junara?
- Your Virgin Media email address
- Your contact details
- A payment method
- Your mobile phone, so we can send you a security code by SMS
- An authenticator app to help protect your account
What is an authenticator app?
An authenticator app is an app on your phone or tablet that helps protect your online accounts by generating short security codes that only you can access.
When you’re asked for an authentication code, simply open the app and enter the code it displays.
Some commonly used authenticator apps include Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator.
If you’re new to authenticator apps, see our step-by-step guide here.
Can I see what the sign-up process looks like before I start?
Yes. We’ve created a short video that walks you through the sign-up process from start to finish, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before you begin.
Watch the sign-up video here.
What happens after I sign up?
Once you’ve signed up, you can continue using your email as you do today while we prepare your account for transfer behind the scenes. There’s no need to change your email settings or do anything else.
We’ll let you know once your transfer is complete. Most customers are unlikely to notice any interruption to their email service during the transfer.
Deadline
When do I need to sign up?
Check your email from Virgin Media for your sign-up deadline. If you haven’t received an email yet, you can either wait to hear from Virgin Media or sign up now.
Customers are being contacted gradually, so you may receive your email at a different time and have a different deadline from other customers.
I missed my sign-up deadline and my account is suspended. What now?
You have 120 days after your deadline to sign up and reactivate your email account.
After 120 days, your email account and all its data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Multiple email addresses (including aliases)
I have more than one email address. Do I need to sign up for each one?
Yes, if you sign in to each email address separately. Each email account has its own inbox and is billed and managed separately.
- Example: Jack and Jill sign in to separate email accounts (and inboxes) on the same computer.
No, if emails sent to different email addresses always arrive in the same inbox (and you do not have auto-forwarding in place). In this case, the extra email addresses are usually aliases (nicknames) for the same mailbox and will come across with your main email account at no extra cost.
- Example: When Jane signs in to jane@virginmedia.com, she also receives emails sent to jane.smith@virginmedia.com. But she has never signed in separately to jane.smith@virginmedia.com and does not have any auto-forwarding in place.
If you’re not sure which setup you have, please contact your current email provider.
Pricing and storage
How much will it cost?
To see your available plans and pricing, simply start the sign-up process using your email address. Once you’ve verified your email, you’ll see the offers available to you.
How much storage will I need?
To understand how storage is calculated and to estimate your needs, please refer to our storage guide.
Why can’t I choose a cheaper plan?
If you are trying to select a plan but the Select button is greyed out, it usually means you are already using more storage quota than the plan allows.
Billing and payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal, credit card, and debit card (including some prepaid debit cards).
We don’t accept direct debit, cheques, bank transfers, or any payment details via email or phone.
After you’ve signed up, you can manage your payment details securely in My Account.
Can you send an invoice?
After your payment is successful, we’ll automatically email you a paid invoice (PDF). We can’t send an invoice before payment is made.
Will you keep my payment details on file?
Yes. Keeping your payment details on file allows your subscription to renew automatically, so you can continue using your email service without needing to remember renewal dates or make manual payments.
It also helps protect you from scam emails that pretend to be from Junara and ask you to make a payment.
To help keep your payment details secure, we partner with a specialist payment security provider (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified) to store and process payment information.
Can you remove my payment details?
Yes. After your payment has been processed, you can request removal of your payment details by emailing support@junara.com from your subscribed email account. We aim to action these requests within five (5) business days.
Please note that if there is no valid payment method on file when your subscription renews, your email service may be interrupted.
Email account transfer
What will you transfer?
We will transfer your email address, emails, contacts, tasks, and forwarding settings.
If your account uses POP, some emails may be stored only on your device and not on your current provider’s server. We can only transfer messages that are available on your provider’s server at the time your email account is transferred.
Will my email experience change?
If you use a third-party email app, such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or Samsung Email, you can continue using it as you do today. Your email settings and experience should remain unchanged after your account is transferred.
If you use webmail, you’ll notice an updated look after your account is transferred. Explore our webmail features and how-to videos to learn more.
When will my account be transferred?
After you sign up and pay, we’ll prepare your account and make sure everything is ready for a smooth transfer. This takes a little time, but there’s nothing you need to do. Simply keep using your email as you normally would.
Once your transfer begins, it is usually completed within a few minutes, so you’re unlikely to notice any interruption. We’ll send you a confirmation email as soon as your transfer is complete.
Accessing my email account
Where do I access my emails?
If you use a third-party email app, such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or Samsung Mail, you can continue to access your emails there throughout this transition.
If you use webmail, you can continue to access it as you do today. After your email account has been transferred to Junara, you can access webmail via the Sign in button at junara.com or via webmail.junara.com/login.
Will my email service be interrupted?
If you sign up by the date provided in your email from Virgin Media, you should not experience any interruption to your email service.
Will my internet service be transferred too?
No. Junara only provides email services.
