Issues with relay denied or relay unauthorised is commonly caused by misconfiguration of email settings
If you receive an notification or rejection email when trying to send email using Outlook and it contains one of these errors (or similar):
- Relay denied
- Relay unauthorised
- Relay not permitted
- Error 550
The cause for this is usually issues or misconfiguration of the outgoing mail server settings.
